Scott "Skeeter" Patrick Sweeney, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2024 in Fort Dodge.

A Visitation and Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Laufersweiler Funeral Home.

Survivors include his sister Sue Gerken and her husband Dennis Vetter of Manson, brother Steve Sweeney of Fort Dodge, nieces Madelyn, Lauryn, Tasha, Ashley, Alex, and nephews Tanner and Skyler, and great nephew Camilo.

He was preceded by his parents Patrick and Edna (Kellen) Sweeney, grandparents George and Helen Sweeney, Frona and Leander Kellen, aunts and uncles Dennis Sweeney, Bob Kellen and Patty Kellen.

Scott Patrick Sweeney was born on November 27, 1969, in Landstuhl, Germany at Ramstein Air Base. When he was young child the family moved back to the United States and the family made their home in Fort Dodge. Scott attended school here and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1988. At the age of 14 Scott began working at the Sandstone Inn where he began as a busser and moved his way up to the main cook. He worked there for 23 years until it closed in 2006. He also worked in construction for many years including at McGough Construction and with Dave Caldwell Construction. Most recently Scott had worked at Budweiser helping in the warehouse and was working in the kitchen at Community Tap and Pizza. He was an avid Green Bay Packers Fan. Scott loved to hunt and fish and would often be found tinkering or fiddling with something to pass the time. He was a hard worker his entire life and he will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
