Rockwell City – Sharon Vought 84, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital, Lake City. Memorial Services will 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at St. Paul’s Lutheran & Presbyterian Church, Rockwell City, with Pastor Denise Berns officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until service time. There is no lunch planned after the service. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. The Service will be live streamed on the Palmer & Swank Funeral Home Face Book Page. Laufersweiler’s Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City is serving the family.
Sharon is survived by her children, Kris (Roger) Burman of Twin Lakes, Gary Vought of Gowrie, and Jennifer Dohrmann of Hendersonville, Tennessee; 4 grandchildren, Ashley, Nicole, Sydney, and Justin; sister Donna Fortner of Columbus, OH; brother James “Skip” (Risa) Schamel of Pleasant Hill; niece Donna Lewis; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond; parents Harold and Evelyn (Olson) Schamel; and brothers, Rex Schamel and Gary Schamel.
Sharon Schamel Vought was born December 14, 1939 at Lohrville, Iowa. She attended Rockwell City Schools. On December 31, 1957, she was united in marriage to Raymond P. Vought at Rockwell City. Sharon worked at Hunt Truck Lines, was a homemaker, and did volunteer work in the community. She enjoyed flipping houses with her husband. Raymond passed away on April 9, of this year. Sharon made her home at Accura HealthCare of Lake City. She was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran & Presbyterian Church.
