Shawn Gully

Shawn Lee Gully, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday March 19, 2025.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, March 29, 2025 in the chapel of Laufersweiler Funeral Home. A visitation will be 11:00 AM until the start of the service. Burial will follow in North Lawn Cemetery.

Born on January 30, 1976, in Fort Dodge to Irene Gully and William Roby, Shawn's early life was marked by the loss of his biological mother during his toddler years. He was then

lovingly raised by his sister, Helen Gully, who became the only mother he truly knew.

Shawn possessed a vibrant spirit and a contagious laugh that filled any room he

entered. His quick wit and love for cracking jokes brought joy to those around him. A

skilled pool player, he relished the friendly competition and camaraderie found at the

pool table. He also had a playful side, enjoying "crumbing" on people - better not let him

catch you slippin'.

Shawn's greatest legacy is his large and loving family. He was a devoted father to

T'vontis Gully (Eva, Za'Viah, Tucker, Za'Veiah, Ty'Liah, Tai'Onnah), T'Vonshai Gully,

Mercedes Mosley (Jau'Vier, JaRye), T'Vonn Gully (Ty'Annaah, Tierra-Rose), T'Vyon

Gully, Tae'Qwan Gully (Bre'Oni, Sayori), Tae'Qwavyon Spates, and Tae'Marion Gully.

He is survived by his siblings: Carolyn Gully, Elaine Gully, Benny Gully, Lamarcus Gully,

Greg Roby, Andre Gully, Stephanie Lewis, Kendra Roby, Anthony Roby, Lakiela Gully, Karen Roby, John "Prettyboy" Roby and Shanesha Gully and a host of nieces and nephews.

Shawn was preceded in death by his biological mother, Irene Gully; his father, William

Roby; the majority of his children's mother, Tan'Niaah Spates; his son, T'Vontae Gully; and his sisters, Shirley Gully and Kamesha Gully.

Shawn's memory will be cherished and his presence deeply missed by all who knew

and loved him. The Gully family appreciates your continued prayers and support during

this difficult time.
