Sherri S. Vanevery

May 30, 1952 — November 6, 2021

Rockwell City Sherri S. VanEvery 69, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021 at her home following a lengthy illness. Visitation will be 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at the Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. Sherri was born on May 30, 1952 in Cedar Falls, Iowa to Roy & Ruth (Larsen) Simerson. She grew up there near loving grandparents and special aunts & uncles. She loved camping and summer vacations with family. Sherri was an avid roller skater and following a family move to Badger, Iowa she spent most of her free time at Steelman's Rink in Fort Dodge. After earning her High School diploma, she worked as a CNA and went on to earn her RN degree at Iowa Central. During her working years Sherri showed her heart by working in Nursing Homes, Addiction Treatment and Adult Disabled Support Homes. As her life carried on, she continued to enjoy camping, fishing, family barbecues, music, motorsports and trips near and far. Gatherings of family and friends always made her happy. As she got older, and grandkids came into her life she loved spending as much time as possible with them. Sherri was a lover and collector of Angels and was a great friend of Eeyore In the words of Bob Dylan, "He not busy being born is busy dying". Sadly, on November 6, 2021 a few years of injury and illness took its toll and after being surrounded in the love of family and friends, with Randy's care, a special hospice nurse niece and a great hospice team, Sherri earned her wings. She went on ahead comfortably in her home and the peace returned her youth. Sherri was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; a special aunt Rosie Jacobsen; a special uncle "Goonky" Larsen; many other close relatives and some loved furbabies. Sherri is survived by husband Randy and Tomas el Gato at home; daughters, Shawn (Kevin) Kleemeier of Pipersville, PA and Rosa (Donovan) Kennebeck of Lytton, IA; grandchildren, Lexi (Andrew), Riley, Cora, Josie, Dallas, and Mila; great-grandsons, Aiden and Samuel. She was also blessed with a loving extended family, 6 stepchildren during a former marriage and numerous "bonus" kids and grandkids and many good friends. VISITATION 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. - Tuesday November 9, 2021 Palmer & Swank Funeral Home Rockwell City, Iowa
