Sherrie McLoud, 65, of Fort Dodge, passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Accura Healthcare of Ogden.
Visitation will be on Friday December 6th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home with a Vigil Prayer Service at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Sherrie is survived by her beloved in-laws Greg (Connie) McLoud of Oregon, Judy Rurup of Iowa, Debbie (Ray) Prazak of Texas, Mark (Maureen) McLoud of Arizona, best friend of 30 years Jess Simpson, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins & her dog Panzer.
Sherrie was preceded in death by her husband, Brian McLoud in 2022, her parents Jerry and Virginia Ewing, and her grandparents, Clayton "Bill" and Ruth Bockert.
Sherrie Ewing was born on March 2, 1959, in Fort Dodge to Gerald & Virginia (Bockert) Ewing, she was raised in Fort Dodge and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1977. On July 15, 1978, she was united in marriage to Brian McLoud at The Little Brown Church in Nashua IA, the couple established their home in Fort Dodge and had just celebrated their 44th year of marriage at the time of Brian's passing in 2022.
Sherrie loved nothing more than having a house full of family & friends, she loved cooking for a crowd and making sure everyone was taken care of. Sherrie also loved watching her great nephews play ball; Saturday mornings Sherrie could be found out at the soccer fields and Friday nights when she was able, she could be found at the stadium watching FDSH football under the lights. She also loved taking her dog Panzer out to Kennedy for walks followed by a stop at Mc Donald's on the way home for his cheeseburger.
Sherrie will be missed greatly by all those that love her; may we all strive to be as selfless and kind as Sherrie.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
