Shirley "Jean" Brown

Shirley "Jean" Brown, 89, of Fort Dodge passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Humboldt South Care Facility. A Celebration of Life will be 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with, Rev. Ron Dunsdon, Pastor of Community of Christ Church, Coalville, officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date at Oakland Cemetery. Shirley is survived by her son, Dick Brown of Fort Dodge; daughter, Paula (Dana) Lindner of Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Aaron (Amy), Eric (Jamie) and Ryan Brown, David and Patrick Lindner; great grandchildren, Kyle, Karter, Taylor, Samantha, Mason, and Taylor; sister, Rachel Olson of White Bear Lake, MN; and her brother, Richard Stewart of Fort Dodge. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Nina (Jordison) Stewart; husband, Robert P. Brown in 2003; brother, William Stewart, and daughter-in-law, Jerri Brown. Shirley Jean Stewart was born April 10, 1928 in Fort Dodge. She was raised and educated in Fort Dodge and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1946. On August 17, 1949, Shirley was united in marriage to Robert Brown in Coalville. The couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Shirley was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Coalville. Memorials may be left to Gateway Hospice, 103 2nd Ave NE in Clarion, IA.
