Stella Algoe

Stella L. Algoe, 97, of Fort Dodge, formerly of Badger, passed away on November 12, 2014 at the Marian Home. Funeral services will be Monday, November 17th at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. Burial will follow at Newark Township Cemetery near Vincent. A visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home; with a Vigil at 6:00 p.m. Stella is survived by her children, Roger (Lori) Algoe of Fort Dodge; Jane (Jerry) Schultz of Eagle Grove; Martha (Thomas) Payne of Fort Dodge; Barbara (Richard) Lynn of Vincent; grandchildren, Jennifer (Dan) Schmauss; T.J (Emily) Lynn; Michael Payne (McCallie Jaeschke); Ryan Lynn; step grandchildren, Jodi (David) Scott; Matt (Ashlee) Reetz; great-grandchildren, Decklyn Payne and Lucy Lynn; step great grandchildren, Emily and Lauren Scott. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; brothers, Raymond, Wilbur, Gerald, and Alvin Jeanblanc; and sister, Geraldine Jeanblanc. Stella Louise Jeanblanc Algoe was born on March 31, 1917 in Vincent to Henry and Anna (O'Connor) Jeanblanc. She attended grade school in Newark Township Schools. She graduated from Corpus Christi School and then Fort Dodge Community College. Stella then attended teachers college. She taught in Newark Township Schools and Corpus Christi School for years. On May 29, 1944 Stella was united in marriage to Edward Algoe at Corpus Christi Church. The couple established their home on their family farm in Badger. Edward passed away on November 12, 1995. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
