Stephen Michael Torrez

Stephen M. Torrez was born May 31, 1970. He went to be with his Savior on January 26, 2013. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Rev. Lyle Hansen officiating. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. I am survived by my family, Melinda of Fort Dodge; mother, Cathy (Sam) Cortez; sister, Sara (Corey) Bustos; aunts, Judith Gonzales and Helen Gomez; uncle, Rudy Cauphio all of Colorado; aunt, Alice Torrez of California. As well as, Nicole, Geno, and Laryssa Lopez of Colorado; Joe Montoya of New Mexico; Eileen Newkirk, Michael Newkirk, Lisa Lawrence, Carmen (Dan) Cameron; and Sarah McClure all of Iowa. I am also survived by many nieces and nephews whom I loved very much. I am preceded in death by my grandparents, Facundo and Mary Torrez; uncles, Jerry and Frank Torrez; and aunt, Sinfe Cauphio. I loved being outdoors, fishing, motorcycling, camping, cooking and mostly, spending time with my family as well as Melinda's. My wish for you is to not cry for me but trust God. Trust that He has a plan and be good to each other. I am now with my Lord and Savior, let that bring you comfort. I was fortunate to have Faith, Family, Friends and Melinda, whom I adored and loved. Thank-you to all my faithful family and friends and even strangers who supported me throughout my years. I was a truly blessed man- Steve Please leave memorials to the discretion of my family.
