Rockwell City – Susan J. Daisy 78, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital, Lake City.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2024 at the Spirit of Hope Church, Rockwell City (formerly the United Methodist Church) with Pastor Denise Berns officiating. Visitation and viewing will be 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, March 24, at Laufersweiler’s Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City. Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery, Rockwell City. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
Sue is survived by her daughters, Lonnie (Matt Goodwin) Holder of Rockwell City, Lea Rastetter of Rockwell City, Diane (Mike) Baker of Harpers Ferry, and Shelly (Matt) Lucas of Apple Valley, MN; 9 grandchildren, Kylie (Orhan) Suljic, Brennan Holder, Mollie Rastetter, Ellie Rastetter, Blake (Jane) Baker, Ashley (Sergio) Salgado, Chelsi Baker, Madison Lucas, and Samantha Lucas; 6 great-grandchildren, Ella and Zoey Suljic, Jocelyn and Nolan Schwartz, and Cale and Ada Baker; sister-in-law Cheri Brennan of Pheonix, AZ; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Terry; parents, Bernard and Eleanor (Ricklefs) Brennan; brothers, Patrick, Michael, and Ronald Brennan; sister Jane Mertes; and son-in-law Mike Rastetter.
Susan Jeanne Brennan was born December 30, 1945 at Fort Dodge, Iowa. She graduated from Rockwell City High School, with the Class of 1964. She furthered her education by attending flight attendant school in Minnesota. Following her education, Sue worked at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. In 1976, she returned to Rockwell City, where she worked at Union State Bank and then Iowa Public Service.
On October 4, 1980 she was united in marriage to Terry Daisy at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple made their home in Rockwell City. Sue operated This & That Clothing Store at their home, did bookkeeping for Rastetter Plumbing & Heating, and was a visitation hostess at the funeral home for many years. Terry passed away in 2012. Sue was a member of the United Methodist Church, and the Church Bell Choir.
