Sydney Klinkefus

Sydney "Peaches" Klinkefus, 22, of Storm Lake, formerly of Humboldt, passed away on Friday, July 30th, 2021, at Mercy One Hospital in Sioux City. A celebration of Syd's life will be held on Saturday, August 7th from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Through the greatest gift possible - organ donation - Syd was able to help save the lives of others. Survivors include her boyfriend Logan Brown and their dog Kiwi of Storm Lake, mom Monica Klinkefus of Ames, sister Haley (Kevin) Cruz and their daughters Aurora and Joule of Waverly, grandmother​s Charlene Klinkefus of Des Moines and Pat Hagen of Ames, several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her dad Steve Klinkefus, grandfathers Milo Hagen and Dale Klinkefus, her dog "Baby". Sydney Marie Klinkefus was born on April 26, 1999, in Newark, DE. As young child the family moved eventually settling in Humboldt. Syd graduated from Humboldt High School in 2018, where she played Volleyball for 4 years. She then attended and graduated from Iowa Central Community College and was currently in her 2nd year at Iowa Lakes College in Emmetsburg in Veterinarian Tech Program. Syd was doing her summer internship at the Lake Animal Hospital in Storm Lake. Her dream was to one day be a Veterinarian Tech at a zoo working with Big Cats. Peaches, as her mom would always call her, was simply the kindest and sweetest person anyone could meet even though she could be very shy and quiet, at first. Syd loved her friends and enjoyed just hanging out sharing lots of laughs. Family was also very important to Syd and she especially loved family game nights. She was a true animal lover and loved going on her walks with "Kiwi". Peaches liked to watch Animal Planet, the Kardashians, Grey's Anatomy, any reality TV and playing all the Lego Video games. Syd also loved to travel to and going for rides with Logan and Kiwi in her beloved Jeep. The family requests that people please wear colors for her celebration of life - choose any color but Peaches' favorite color was green. In lieu of flowers memorials may be left to Lake Animal Hospital in Storm Lake or to any local humane society of your choice.
