Tamara "Tammy" McMahon

Tamara "Tammy" McMahon, 60, of Fort Dodge, passed away Friday, November 15, 2024, at her home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Tammy is survived by her husband, Joe McMahon of Fort Dodge; children Samantha McMahon (fiancé Chris Jessen) and their daughter, Nora Jessen, all of Waukee and Cord McMahon (Ashley Kubik) of Des Moines; siblings, Lorraine (Mike) Loux of Eagle Grove, Roy Dean (Patty) Peterson of Duncombe, Christine (Bob) Smith of Woodward, and Norine Peterson of Fort Dodge; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and her cat, Jules.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Leila (Zabel) Peterson; father and mother-in-law, Joe B. and Shirley McMahon; and brother, Steven Peterson.

Tamara Renae Peterson was born September 16, 1964, in Fort Dodge. She attended Fort Dodge Senior High and ICCC. She was united in marriage to Joe McMahon on December 26, 1990, in Las Vegas. The couple made their home in Fort Dodge, and Tammy helped run the family businesses. Being a grandma filled her with joy. She loved sharing her passion for gardening and going on motorcycle rides with her husband. Tammy was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be left in Tammy's name to a charity of your choice.
