Teresa E. Alexander, 87, of Fort Dodge, passed away Thursday September 19, 2024, at Laurens Care Center in Laurens.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday September 25, 2024, at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. A visitation will take place Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Laufersweiler Funeral Home. A luncheon following the service will be held at the VFW Post 1856 and the burial will take place at a later date in Copus Christi Cemetery.
Teresa is survived by her sons, Brian (Carol) of Laurens, Bryce of Fort Dodge, Bradley (Julie) of Fort Dodge, Bruce of Fort Dodge, and Bret of Fort Dodge; daughter, Brenda (Chad) Benton-Schorr of Fort Dodge; 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Teresa is preceded in death by her husband Bruce "Smoky", parents Louis and Dorothy (Miller) Bush, sister Elizabeth Bowen, son-in-law Paul Benton, daughter-in-law Lorri Alexander, grandchild, Amanda Alexander, and great grandchild, Dalton Alexander.
Teresa Elaine Bush was born on January 18, 1937, in Iowa City. She was raised and educated in Fort Dodge, graduating from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1955. On December 3, 1957, she was united in marriage to Bruce E. Alexander in Fort Dodge. The couple made their home in Fort Dodge, Russellville, AR, and Goldfield, IA. In 2019, Teresa returned to Fort Dodge. She was a member of Holy Trinity and a past member of Catholic Daughters of America. Teresa worked for Fort Dodge Telephone Company and Centel Telephone Company for 27 years. While she was living in Goldfield, she was employed with Congregate Meals. Teresa spent her final years with the Laurens care center in Laurens, IA.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
