Thomas (Tom) Junior Paris, 88, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Society in Ravenna, NE. Tom was born on February 12, 1925 in Pilot Mound, Iowa. He graduated from Otho High School in 1943. He was drafted into the Army in 1943 serving in the South Pacific until his honorable discharge in 1946. While serving in the Army he was in the Medic Division and learned the trade of a dental lab technician. Upon discharge he settled in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and worked at Mitchell Dental Laboratory. Also in 1946, Tom met his future wife Eileen Mann from Fort Dodge, Iowa, and they married in April 1947. In 1963, Tom moved his wife and two daughters to North Platte, Nebraska where he owned and operated his own dental laboratory until his retirement in 1990, at which time he and Eileen relocated back to Fort Dodge, Iowa. After the passing of Eileen in 2007 Tom relocated to Kearney, Nebraska, to be closer to his daughters. Tom is survived by his daughters, Renee Hazelwood, who resides in Aurora, Colorado (son-in-law Jim and one grand-daughter Rachel Hazelwood of San Francisco, California); and Coleen Bacon, who resides in Kearney, Nebraska (son-in-law Dave and two grandsons Austin Bacon of Lincoln, Nebraska and Dane Bacon of Lincoln, Nebraska). He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Sr. and Elizabeth Paris, his sister Dorothy Palmer, sister Berneice Millikin and his wife Eileen (Mann) Paris. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home, 307 S 12th St. Fort Dodge, IA, and 10:30 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1321 Second Avenue South, Fort Dodge, Iowa on February 6, 2014. Tom will be laid to rest beside his wife Eileen at Corpus Christi Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the V.F.W. Post 1856 and the U.S. Army Honor Guard in Fort Dodge, Iowa on February 6, 2014. Visitation will be on Wednesday February 5, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. all at the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home at 307 S 12th St. Fort Dodge, Iowa.
