Thomas L. Osborne, 72, of Gowrie passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Jane Shepherd of United Methodist Church, Gowrie officiating. A visitation will be 11:30 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Thomas is survived by his significant other, Susan (Christian) Crouch; daughters, Janet Samuelson of Colorado Springs, CO; Karla Hicks; Billy Jean Ruthford both of Fort Dodge; Tonya L. Chase of Cambridge; Tiffinny Brommel of Des Moines; sons, Mark Osborne of Sterling, CO and Raymond Osborne currently stationed in Fort Carson, Colorado; 24 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Leona Flowers; Erma Collins, and Charlotte Blankenhagen all of Fort Dodge; and brothers, Richard Osborne of Pomeroy and Glen Osborne of Lehigh; and dear friend, Gail Robinson He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford A. and Laura (Coan) Osborne; brothers, Ronnie and Robert; sisters, Edna Wallace, Thelma Wright, Ramona Orvis, and Sandy Rykhus; and two infant sons, Theodore and Thomas. Thomas Lee Osborne was born December 29, 1940 in Fort Dodge. He was raised and educated in Fort Dodge. For a number of years he resided in the Davenport area. He was employed with Allied Van Lines (a moving company) for 36 years. After retirement, Tom established his home with Sue Crouch in Gowrie. He enjoyed taking long drives, country western and gospel music, and computers. Tom also enjoyed the companionship and company of his two dogs, BJ and Buddy. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
