Thomas P Arnold

Thomas P. Arnold, 83, of Fort Dodge, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the Paula Baber Hospice House. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and then 10:30 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be at Sacred Heart Church, with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery with Military Rites. A visitation will be Friday 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with a K. of C. Rosary at 6:30 p.m. and a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Thomas is survived by his children, Steve (Lori) Arnold; Edward Arnold; Teresa Arnold (Bill); Liz (Don) Enquist; Gabe (Melanie) Arnold all of Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Amy (Rusty); Scott (Katie); Tami; Robbie (Mandy); Ryan (Dawne); Treva; Jordan; Adam (Ali); Joey (Ronni); Alesha; Nolan; Gracie; fourteen great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Lou Johnson of Davenport; brothers, Dave (Muriel) Arnold of Winona, MN; and Dick (Mary) Arnold of Omaha, NEnep and many many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Vonda in 1998; parents, Harry and Marguerite (Cunningham) Arnold; sisters, Jeanne; Rose Lee; Edna; Julie; and brothers, Jim; Joe; and John. Tom was born on October 29, 1933, in Fort Dodge. He graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1952. He married the love of his life, Vonda Lee Crandall on February 27, 1954 at Holy Rosary Church. He worked for the Illinois Central Railroad, Hormels, and retired from Decker Truck Line, in 2008. He was an active member of the 133rd Air Nation Guard, from 1954-1975. He was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Parish. Tom enjoyed spending time with his family. He always had a great story to tell about his hometown and his life growing up. He will be deeply missed by loved ones. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
