Thomas Reynoso

October 8, 1955 — January 30, 2017

Rudolph Thomas Reynoso, 61 years old, Fort Dodge, passed away Monday, January 30, 2017 at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and then at 10:30 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be at Corpus Christi Church. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2017 at the funeral home. Tommy was the eldest son of seven children by Rudy and Emma Reynoso and was the proud keeper of his siblings: Ron, Terry, Roger, Leticia, Matt and Norah. Tom was born in Hollywood, California and grew up in Palm Springs. He then moved to Irvine and lived his remaining years in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Tom loved to hike the rock quarry behind his house with his constant four-legged companion Toasty, cut the lawn with the riding lawn mower and set up targets for BB gun and bow and arrow practice. The oldest of four siblings, at the time, his mother counted on him to keep a close watch on his little brother Ron who notoriously led the two into trouble and mischief. When the family moved to Irvine in 1971, Tom attended Esperanza School for Special Education. Here he played bass guitar in the school band and broke every swim record. At the same time, and for the next 36 years, Tom served the Church of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton where he was an iconic figure among the church members. He attended daily mass with his mother, served on the altar with Father O'Keefe, was the Tootsie Roll pitchman for the Knights of Columbus and served as batboy for the parish softball team. Tommy was an avid bowler, pool shark, all out pass rusher and long bomb throwing quarterback. He could compete with any in the card game of Concentration. He loved word searches and #2 pencils. Tom was always up for a ride in the car. He loved Rams football, swimming in ice cold water, watching TV and his mother's cooking. Tommy was an angel, on leave, who bore the cross of Down Syndrome while he served mankind here on Earth. His patience, selflessness, loyalty, servitude and unconditional love resembled that of the person he loved most dearly, Jesus. We who knew him will never forget him and are blessed because of him. He joined his biological father and was reunited with Toasty in heaven on January 30, 2017.
