Timothy E. Bender

Mr. Timothy E. Bender, 52, of Fort Dodge, IA, passed away at Iowa City Hospital and Clinic on Wednesday, November 16, 2016. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 21, 2016 in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Elder Bobby Naylor of Second Baptist Church officiating. A visitation will be 3:00 to 6:00 Sunday at the funeral home. He was born June 19, 1964 in Laurel, MS to Louise Bender and John E. Newell. Timothy received his education through the Laurel City School Systems. He was an active member of Second Baptist Church, Fort Dodge, IA until his death. Timothy later moved to Fort Dodge, IA and worked at Celotex System Plant for many years where he developed many friendships. He had a passion for singing karaoke, watching his favorite sports team which was Minnesota Vikings, grilling, and he liked nice cars and clothes. Tim was very humorous and always had a smile and a joke. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, John E. Newell and brother, Charlie Bender. Tim is survived by his mother, Louise Bender; one son, Timothy L. Bender of Des Moines, IA; three daughters, Jayden Johnson; Cassandra Johnson; and Teyera Johnson, all of Fort Dodge, IA; one brother, Richard (Lillian) Bender; two sisters, Katherine (Thomas) Clark of Fort Dodge, IA; Elizabeth (Arthur) Woullard of Sumrall, MS; special friend, Jodi Johnson; three aunts, Charlene Washington; Callie Sanders Cox, both of Fort Dodge, IA; Mahalia Guess of Freeport, IL; six uncles, William Naylor; Walter Naylor, both of Fort Dodge, IA; George Naylor of Sioux City, IA; James Naylor of Des Moines, IA; Robert Naylor of Lauderdale, MS; Matthew Newell of Detroit, MI; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
