Tracy A. Haatvedt, 80, of Fort Dodge, passed away on December 23, 2024 at Journey's in Friendship Haven.

Private graveside services will be at the Callender Cemetery. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family with military rites presented by the VFW Post 1856 and U.S. Army Honor Guard.

Survivors include his wife Marilyn Haatvedt of Fort Dodge, stepson David Briden and his wife Laurie of Scottsdale, AZ.

He was preceded by his parents Fredrick and Nora (Larson) Haatvedt, brothers Roger Haatvedt, Alan Haatvedt, sister Ramona Crandall of Fort Dodge, and stepdaughter Kelley Briden.

Tracy A. Haatvedt was born on March 3, 1944 in Fort Dodge. He was raised and educated in Callender, graduating from Prairie Community High School in 1961. He served in the U.S Army from 1965 to 1967. On November 13, 2001, Tracy was united in marriage to Marilyn Decker-Briden. Tracy worked at MidAmerican Energy for 35 years, retiring in 2003. The couple made their home in Fort Dodge and Gowrie. In 2011, they established their home in Ankeny. They returned to Fort Dodge in 2018. Over the years Tracy enjoyed golf, bowling, and softball. One of Tracy's favorite hobbies was attending car shows.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
