Velma Katherine Binkley

Velma Katherine Binkley, 84, of Fort Dodge, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be Sunday December 13th at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cedar Township Cemetery, Rinard. Visitation and time of prayer will be on Sunday from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Velma is survived by her children, Pamela Vote of Fort Dodge, Bruce (Tammy) Binkley of Jefferson, Janet Allen of Jacksonville, NC, Peggy Binkley of Okoboji, and Tina Binkley of Fort Dodge; 10 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Catherine (Pederson) Jenkins, 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Velma Katherine Jenkins was born January 30, 1936 in Fort Dodge. She attended school and graduated from Oak Park Academy in Nevada in 1954. Following her education, she taught country schools for several years. She was then a homemaker and later worked for Casey's General Stores for 13 years. Velma was a member of Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She loved spending time with her family and friends and always made sure everyone was fed when they visited her house. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
