Vernon "Jeff" Jezek, 44, of Fort Dodge, formerly of Dallas Texas, passed away Monday, September 16, 2013, at his home. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Monday September 23, 2013 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery with Military Rites presented by the U.S. Marine Honor Guard. A visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home, with a rosary at 6:00 PM. Among the survived special longtime friend and companion, Kim Mongrella of Fort Dodge and her son, Anthony of Iowa City. Jeff is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Vernon Jeffery Jezek was born September 3, 1969 in Dallas, Texas. Following high school, Jeff enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Serving from 1988 to 1992 in Desert Storm. Following his honorable discharge he received in teaching degree in the states. From 2009-2011, Jeff worked as a private security contractor in Iraq. Upon returning to the United States Jeff was employed at Amarillo College of Texas in the computer lab. In October of 2012 Jeff moved to Fort Dodge. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be left to the Wells Fargo memorial trust of Vernon Jezek.
