Viola B. Gill, 97 of Fort Dodge, passed away Tuesday, June 30th, 2020 at the Marian Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 PM Monday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with a Rosary starting at 6:30 PM. Vi is survived by her children, Jim (Susan) Gill of Fort Dodge, John (Julie) Gill of Davenport , Jeri Mace (TJ Johnsrud) and Jeanne Wells both of Des Moines; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Hilda (Miller) Weideman; husband, Floyd Gill; brother, James Weideman; sister, Ione Chambers; and nephew, Greg Weideman. Viola B. Weideman was born June 5, 1923 in Manson. She attended Manson schools and graduated from Manson High School. She was united in marriage to Floyd Gill on February 2, 1942 at Fort Bliss, TX. While Floyd was serving in the European Theater during WWII, Vi lived with her sister in Chicago. She worked for the U.S. Navy. The couple remained in Chicago after the war until their son James was born and then the family moved to Fort Dodge. Vi worked at the First National Bank until 1970. Vi and Floyd then bought Constantine's Restaurant and made it their own. They operated "Gill's" for 15 years. Memorials may be left to discretion of the family.
