Violet Allen Rykhus

Violet A. Rykhus, 86, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., January 22nd in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Henkelman, Pastor of Assembly of God Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Survivors include her children, Robert (Beth) Allen Rykhus of Tacoma, Washington; and Linda (Terry) Kay Evans of Fort Dodge; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Fern E. Horton of Fort Dodge; and brother, Eldon Johnson of Fort Dodge. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Clara "Harriet (Hill) Johnson; and her daughter, Carroll Ann Miliken. Violet Allen Johnson was born June 2, 1927 in Fort Dodge. She was raised and educated in Fort Dodge graduating from FDSH in 1945. She was employed with Woolworth's for 13 years and then at Ellen's for 27 years. Violet was a Girl Scout Leader and Den Mother. She also was a PTA member and President of East Lawn Country School for two years. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
