Walter “Wally” W. Neubaum 82, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home, Fort Dodge. A Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2023 (PLEASE NOTE DATE) at the Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City. Private Family Graveside Service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23 at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Knierim. Memorials my be left to the discretion of the family.
Wally is survived by his wife Pam; children, Jeff (Peggy) Neubaum of Rockwell City, Diahann (Fabio) Giorno of Boynton, FL, Elizabeth (Beth) Neubaum of Thornton, CO, and Amy Collins of Fort Dodge; 7 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Josephine (Lehmberg) Neubaum.
Walter William Neubaum was born December 26, 1940 at Sioux City, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Barnum, graduating from Johnston Township Consolidated Schools. He then received his degree in Pre-Engineering. On November 26, 1982 he was united in marriage to Pam Adams and the couple established their home at Twin Lakes. Wally farmed in the Jolley and Rockwell City area. From 2008 to 2016 the couple lived the Dominican Republic. They returned to Iowa and made their home in Fort Dodge. For many years, Wally was a pyrotechnician and would oversee the creation and deployment of fireworks.
