Wayne Eli Oleson

Wayne E Oleson, 71, of Fort Dodge, passed away on June 7, 2023, at Trinity Regional Medical Center. It was Wayne's wishes to be cremated and there will be a private family graveside service held at North Lawn Cemetery with full Military Rites conducted by the V.F.W Post 1856 and the US Army Honor Guard. Survivors include his wife, Deborah of Fort Dodge, daughter Tami Koele and her husband Chris of Waukee, son Todd Oleson and his wife Mandy of Badger, grandchildren Kaitlyn and Ava Koele, and Cameron, Carson, and Mason Oleson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond L and Elizabeth J. Oleson. Wayne Eli Oleson was born on May 18, 1952, in Fort Dodge. He attended schools here and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School. Wayne then attended Iowa Central Community College. He served with the US Army during Vietnam and returned to Fort Dodge upon his honorable discharge. On January 15, 1972, he was united in marriage to Deborah J Williams at First United Methodist Church. The couple established their home in Fort Dodge. From 1982 until 1987 the couple made their home in Ottumwa before moving back to Fort Dodge. For over 10 years Wayne worked for Hormel's. He enjoyed his family, fishing, trips to Las Vegas, visiting casinos, and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
