Wayne T Myers

Wayne T. Myers, 88, of Fort Dodge passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 4th St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Allen Henderson, officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery with military rites presented by the V.F.W. Post 1856 and United States Army Honor Guard. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Wayne is survived by his children, Mike (Larita) Myers; Dale (Jackie) Myers; Stanley (Bev) Myers; Gary (Gloria) Myers; and Kathleen (Larry) Zimmermann all of Fort Dodge; and 13 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Flossie (Newton) Myers; 4 brothers and 3 sisters, grandsons, Nathan and Troy Myers. Wayne was born on February 16, 1927 in Fort Dodge. He was raised and educated in Fort Dodge before serving for the United States Army in WWII. He was united in marriage to Vivian Rice and the couple later divorced. Wayne worked for USG for 38 years until retiring in 1989. Wayne was a member of the Eagles and V.F.W. Post 1856. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
