William Anthony (Bill) Christensen, age 83, died at his home in Chicago, Illinois. A Prayer Service to Honor Bill's life will be held on Monday, February 9th at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Deacon Jeff Harris officiating. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery with military rites conducted by the V.F.W. Post 1856 and the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Bill was born on October 12, 1931, in Fort Dodge, Iowa to his parents Author and Veronica Cavanaugh Christensen. Bill Graduated from Corpus Christi Academy in 1949 and then enlisted in the U.S. Army serving in Alaska from March of 1954 to May of 1955. After receiving his honorable discharge Bill attended and graduated from St. Ambrose College in Davenport, Iowa. After college graduation, Bill worked for Montgomery Ward for 41 years as a photo layout designer in their catalog division. Bill is survived by 4 sisters and 5 brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 sisters. He is also mourned by Chicago friends and neighbors including Angela Skwarski, and especially his dear friend Jose Martinez.
