William Crouse, 82, of Fort Dodge passed away Monday, July 12, 2021, at the Marian Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be On Thursday July 15th at 2:00 PM at Holy Trinity Church. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery with military rites provided by the United States Navy Honor Guard and the VFW Post 1856. A rosary to be prayed at 12:45 PM with visitation to follow from 1:00 to 2:00 PM all on Thursday at the church. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family. William is survived by his wife Virginia "Sue", children Donna (Paul) Griffin of Ireland, David (Rosario) Crouse of Bremerton, WA, Philip (Heidi) Crouse of Waukee, IA, and Gregory (Brandy) Crouse of Eldora. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Martha (Davis) Crouse, infant daughter Kristen, brothers Michael and John Crouse. William Monroe Crouse was born September 29, 1938, in Buffalo Center. He was raised and educated in Waterloo. He graduated from East Waterloo High School in 1957. William then enlisted in the United States Navy. He was united in marriage to Virginia "Sue" Maas on September 17, 1960, in Coolidge, AZ. He attended Tidewater Community College and graduated with an Associate of Arts Degree in 1974. He retired from the Navy in 1980 and the couple made their home in West Des Moines. In 1991, the family moved to Fort Dodge. He retired from dispatch at Greenfield Transport in 2003. Bill was always thinking of others and would help anyone in need. He enjoyed model cars, Legos, and most importantly time spent with his grandchildren. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
