William Naylor

William "Hawk" Naylor, 86, of Fort Dodge passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Unity Point Health Trinity Regional Medical Center. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2017 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Sean Roberts and Bobby Naylor officiating. Burial will follow at North Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8th at the funeral home. William is survived by his wife, Gladys; children, Willie J. Naylor; Billie G. Naylor; Bobby (Sharon) Naylor, Bessie; Lois (Gary) Wilson all of Fort Dodge; Alvin Naylor of Edina, MN; Leonard Naylor of Ames, IA; and Nathaniel Naylor of Fort Dodge; 25 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Callie Cox; Charlene Washington both of Fort Dodge; Louise Bender of Laurel, MS; Mahalia Guess of Freeport, IL; brothers, George Naylor of Sioux City; James Naylor of Des Moines; Willie Burton; and Robert Naylor both of Lauderdale, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Monia Naylor; grandchildren, Laquesha; Samuel; Carla; and Ryan Ellis; sister, Bettie; brothers, Walter and Johnnie Naylor. William Henry Naylor was born September 27, 1930 in Lauderdale, Mississippi. On May 28, 1952, he was united in marriage to Gladys in Lauderdale, Mississippi. The couple then established their home in Fort Dodge. He worked for Kalo Brick and Tile, Iowa Beef and retired from the D.O.T. in 1997. William was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, riding his Harley and classic cars. He loved his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
