W. "Terry" Guinan, 79, of Fort Dodge, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral Services will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday, August 15, 2015 in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Terry is survived by his wife, Anita of Fort Dodge; children, Mary (Brad) Milder of Riverside, IA; John (Tammy) Guinan of Fort Dodge; Janet (Kevin) Canty of Lynbrook, NY; 5 grandchildren, Timothy Jones; Michael Berning; Elizabeth Canty; William Canty; Brooke Canty; several great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Mickey Guinan and Johnny Guinan, both of Omaha, NE; Pat Guinan of Council Bluffs, IA; and sister, Lois Kenkel of Omaha, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Frances (Coverdale) Guinan; brother, Larry Guinan; sisters, Joann Wood; Bonnie Gruber; and Darlene Pierce. William Terry Guinan was born on May 3, 1936 in Murdo, S.D. In his youth the family moved to Council Bluffs. Terry graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1954 and then served in the U.S. Army until 1956. Terry graduated from the University of Iowa in 1960 with a Law Degree. His first employment was serving as a clerk for Judge Hanson in Fort Dodge. Early in his career Terry served as Webster County Prosecutor and had a private legal practice for over 40 years. He was united in marriage to Anita Behrends on May 25, 1963 at Corpus Christi Church and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. Terry enjoyed reading books and taking family trips to the cabin at West Okoboji. He loved traveling with his wife, especially all through Eastern Europe. Terry's family was his hobby, and he loved them very much. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
